Dental Implants

Dental implants are the preferred solution for replacing a single missing tooth.

Single-tooth replacement

Single teeth should be replaced with dental implants. Dental implants are stable, long-lasting and look, feel and act like natural teeth. They are among the most successful procedures in dentistry today and offer a permanent solution to teeth loss.

Options For Missing Teeth

Before: A fractured incisor needed to be extracted. Note the inflamed tissue around the fractured tooth. The adjacent tooth has a failing and poorly fitted veneer. After: The fractured tooth was replaced with an implant and a new cosmetic crown. The adjacent tooth received a matching veneer. The implant is undetectable as a fake tooth.

What about Dental Bridges?

Options For Missing Teeth

Dental bridges are used to replace missing teeth, but require that the teeth supporting the bridge be shaved down. Dental implants may be a better solution.

In the past the standard for replacing one or two missing teeth was the use of a dental bridge. Bridges require cutting down of the healthy adjacent teeth in order to support the artificial tooth, and so in some cases a dental implant may be a better choice. The doctor will make a recommendation on the best option for replacing your missing tooth, based on your individual needs.

Replacing multiple missing teeth or replacing all your teeth

Depending on the amount of teeth missing and your budget, we recommend one of the following choices:

Dental Implants for each missing tooth.

Usually we will only recommend replacing each of your missing teeth with dental implants if only a few teeth are missing. If many or all teeth are missing, it can be better to replace them with a combination of implants and other restorations, such as dentures or a bridge of crowns. This provides more flexibility for chewing, similar to natural teeth, and is more affordable.

Implant-Supported Partial Dentures and Implant-Supported Dentures

No more slipping and no more denture adhesive

Options For Replacing Missing TeethAn implant-supported denture provides security for your denture so that it won’t slip out, eliminates the need for adhesives and your chewing ability is increased. It is the most economical implant-supported teeth replacement option.

A person missing all their teeth would need to have a minimum of two dental implants per arch to provide stability. The greater the number of implants used for stabilization, the greater the chewing power and the more natural we can make your dentures look, including no upper palate and the appearance that your teeth emerge naturally from your gums.

Denture Stabilization

Stabilize your existing dentures

Denture stabilization requires a minimum of two implants per arch of teeth to stabilize your existing dentures. We retrofit your dentures so that they will snap into your implants. The more implants used, the greater the stabilization.

Fixed Implant-Supported Dentures

New set of teeth without any bone grafting

Dental ImplantsUsing special long, tapered dental implants we can place a new set of fixed-in teeth onto four implants per arch. The implants are placed in locations and at angles that provide the greatest support and distribution of load and make the best use of available bone.

This means that many patients with considerable bone loss in their jawbone can get this procedure without needing any bone grafting, making this a fast and more affordable procedure.

We make our fixed dentures so that they look very natural and complement your face, and, as needed, to correct your bite and teeth height so the lower face is properly filled out.

Options For Replacing Missing TeethImplant-Supported Bridges

The strongest and most lifelike teeth replacement option

Options For Replacing Missing TeethImplant-supported bridges are the most stable, natural-feeling and lifelike teeth replacement option. Practically 100% of chewing power and bite force is returned with this restoration.

We place four three-unit bridges made of high quality, durable porcelain onto eight dental implants in each arch. Where there has been bone loss, we will augment your bone through bone grafting.

Success Stories

Options For Replacing Missing Teeth

“Having worked in the dental field for more that 30 years, I have heard many good things from the patients that I come in contact from Advanced Cosmetic & General Dentistry. I had a tooth extracted and opted to have an implant. Dr. Nosti did the implant and I found him very competent and knowledgeable. The outcome was excellent to the point where I’m not sure which tooth is the implant. The atmosphere in the office was extremely pleasant, and I had a very good all-around experience, starting with the front desk people to the dental assistance in the back and ending with Dr. Nosti. I would highly recommend Advanced Cosmetic & General Dentistry to all my friends.” –Joan
